BIMT Campus proudly launches “BIMT’s Eco Promise” , a landmark national initiative to plant 100,000 trees across all nine provinces of SriLanka.
THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE ARE,
The campaign began with a press conference on June 4th, 2025, at the BIMT Campus Auditorium. On June 5th, 2025 coinciding with World Environment Day the project was officially launched through a series of press releases, marking the formal start of this national initiative.
As part of a nationwide initiative to plant 100,000 trees, the first phase of the first round will commence in July 2025, starting in the Western Province with the plantation of 3,000 trees across the Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts.
The program will be implemented in three rounds, each consisting of nine phases, gradually expanding to cover the entire country.
The dates for the tree planting phases will be finalized by the Central Environment Authority and local governments.
