Privacy Policy

Welcome to https://www.bimt.lk (the “Site”). We understand that online privacy is important to users of our Site, especially when conducting business. This statement governs our privacy policies with respect to those users of the Site (“Visitors”) who visit without transacting business and Visitors who register to transact business on the Site and make use of the various services offered by BIMT Campus (collectively, “Services”) (“Authorized Customers”).

“Personally Identifiable Information”

“Personally Identifiable Information” refers to any information that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, including, but not limited to, name, address, phone number, fax number, email address, financial profiles, government identification numbers, and credit card information. Personally Identifiable Information does not include information collected anonymously (i.e., without identification of the individual user) or demographic information not connected to an identified individual.

What Personally Identifiable Information is Collected?

We may collect basic user profile information from all of our Visitors. From our Authorized Customers, we collect additional information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, the nature and size of the business, and the type of services or programs the Authorized Customer intends to use or enroll in.

Who Collects the Information?

In addition to our direct collection, third-party service providers (such as banks, payment processors, and insurance providers) may collect information from our Visitors and Authorized Customers. While we do not control how these third parties use the information, we encourage them to disclose their privacy practices. Some third parties may act solely as intermediaries in the distribution chain and do not retain or use the information provided.

We use Personally Identifiable Information to:

  • Customize the Site experience for our Visitors.

  • Fulfill enrollment, payment, or other service requests on the Site.

Sharing Information

Personally Identifiable Information about Authorized Customers may be shared with other Authorized Customers or partners for legitimate business purposes. We may also share aggregated, non-identifiable information about Visitors with affiliates, partners, and service providers. Visitors and Authorized Customers have the opportunity to opt out of receiving communications from us or our partners.

Storage and Security

Personally Identifiable Information collected by BIMT Campus is securely stored and is only accessible to authorized personnel. Sensitive information, such as credit card details, is encrypted and handled using industry-standard security protocols. While we take commercially reasonable steps to maintain security, electronic communications and databases may be subject to errors, tampering, or unauthorized access, for which we cannot be held liable.

Cookies

Cookies are used to collect information about user preferences, enhance the Site experience, and for security purposes. For example, if an Authorized Customer is logged in and inactive for a certain period, the Site will automatically log them out. Visitors may set their browser to refuse cookies, but certain Site features may not function properly without them.

BIMT Campus partners and vendors may have access to Personally Identifiable Information on a “need-to-know” basis to evaluate service eligibility. Our privacy policy does not extend to their collection or use of information.

Legal Disclosure

We may disclose Personally Identifiable Information to comply with a court order, subpoena, or law enforcement request. Disclosure may also occur to protect the safety of our Visitors and Authorized Customers.
