Mr. Hemakumara Gunasekera is a dynamic and results-driven professional with over
three decades of leadership experience across education, industry, and consultancy
sectors. He has held senior roles in government ministries and private enterprises,
consistently delivering strategic value and operational excellence. With an MSc in
Project Management and a Postgraduate Certificate in HRM, he is passionate about
human development. As Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce
(ICC), he contributes to global business development and international trade. Deeply
committed to community service, he actively engages in social and professional
organizations, promoting leadership, collaboration, and nation-building efforts.

Mr. Sagara Fernando

Mr. Sagara Fernando is a highly accomplished professional with over 15 years
of experience in accounting, finance, and lecturing. He holds the prestigious
qualifications of Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA – UK) and Chartered
Global Management Accountant (CGMA – UK), reflecting his strong foundation in
financial strategy and management. Additionally, he is an associate member of
the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM – UK), showcasing his multidisciplinary
expertise. Mr. Fernando holds an MBA from the University of Sunderland, where he
gained comprehensive knowledge in business and management. His career reflects a
deep commitment to excellence in both professional practice and education.

Mr. Harshan Prasath

Mr. Harshan Prasath is a highly qualified finance professional with extensive experience
in the fields of financial and investment management. With memberships in the
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Institute of Management
Accountants (CIMA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri
Lanka). Mr. Prasath embarked on his career at EY Sri Lanka and EY Maldives, working
as an auditor. During this time, he gained valuable insights into financial processes and
auditing standards, honing his skills in meticulous analysis and financial reporting. After
his successful tenure at EY, Mr. Prasath moved on to Corporate Finance in CDB, where
he assumed the role of Manager. This position provided him with an opportunity to
delve deeper into the complexities of the capital market.

Eng. Irshath AJ

A.J. Irshath is an accomplished engineer with more than eleven years of experience
in the industry. Throughout his career, he has established himself as a leading figure
with expertise in building structural design and extensive knowledge in areas such
as cost controlling, quantity surveying, estimation, tender management, variation
management, claims management and commercial management. A.J. Irshath’s
educational background is impressive, having earned his MSc in Quantity Surveying
from Birmingham University (one of the prestigious institutions in the United Kingdom).
He also holds a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Structural

Prof. Hilal is a highly accomplished and experienced Senior Lecturer in Marketing Management at South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. With an extensive educational background, he holds a PhD in Management from Cochin University of Science & Technology in India, a Master of Commerce (M. Com) from the University of Kelaniya, and a B. Com from South Eastern University of Sri Lanka.

Having spent several years in the Sri Lankan education system, Prof. Hilal possesses a wealth of knowledge and expertise in his field. Throughout his career, he has encountered and interacted with thousands of students, gaining valuable insights into their needs and aspirations. Prof. Hilal underwent training in publishing skills at Henson Editorial Services in the United Kingdom. This training was made possible through the prestigious Commonwealth Professional Fellowship, awarded by the Association of Commonwealth Universities in the UK.

Dr. Perera is a distinguished member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Managers. He is also an alumnus of ICFAI University, Tripura, India, further enriching his academic credentials. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Perera currently serves as the Head of Sales at a leading listed packaging company within a prominent conglomerate. Dr. Dabare is a distinguished academic and business management professional with extensive qualifications and over 14 years of multifaceted experience in academia, industry, and research. She holds a B.BMgt (First Class Degree), MBA, and Ph.D., complemented by several professional certifications, including Chartered Accountancy (ICASL), Chartered Human Resource Management (CQHRM), and Banking qualifications (IBSL) Sri Lanka. Additionally, she has earned a Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education (CTHE) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, further solidifying her expertise in academic instruction.

Her professional journey spans across diverse domains such as education, auditing, taxation, corporate secretarial work, university-level lecturing, and research supervision. Dr. Dabare has contributed her expertise to several prestigious institutions and Universities, including: University of Lincoln (Malaysia), University of the West of England (UK), University of Wales (UK), University of Bristol (UK), University of Salford (UK), AAT Business School (Sri Lanka), University of Sri Jayewardenepura (Sri Lanka)

R. M. M. Chandramal Abeykumara Rajapaksha

R.M.M.C.A. Rajapaksha is an accounting professional with extensive experience in financial management, taxation, and auditing. With a BSc in Business Management from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka and professional qualifications from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and AAT Sri Lanka, he brings a wealth of expertise to the field.
Over his career, he has held various financial roles, including Accountant at Ceylinco General Insurance Ltd., where he worked for nearly two decades, and Accountant at Valmer Resorts, Seychelles. His responsibilities have ranged from preparing management financial statements to monitoring trade debtors, budget analysis, VAT schedules, and branch coordination.
Rajapaksha is proficient in various accounting packages with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a passion for working under tight deadlines.

Mr. Afzan Naasar

Marketing Manager

Afzan Nasar is a dedicated marketing professional with a strong background in education consultancy, accounting, and finance. Currently serving as the Marketing Manager at The British Institute of Management and Technology (Pvt) Ltd, he brings extensive experience in student affairs, online marketing, and product marketing.

Afzan began his professional studies in 2019, successfully completing AAT Sri Lanka, and is now a member of AAT. He also earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Lincoln University College and is currently advancing through the Corporate Level of CA Sri Lanka to further enhance his expertise in accounting and finance.

Throughout his career, Afzan has gained valuable experience in auditing and financial management. He previously worked at EY Sri Lanka, holding positions as an Audit Senior and Audit Trainee, and also contributed to BIMT Colombo Campus as an Account Assistant and Management Trainee.

Mr. Santhirasekaram Gugapiriyan

Manager – Student Enrollment

Mr. Santhirasekaram Gugapiriyan brings a diverse professional background to his role as the Student Enrollment Manager at BIMT Campus, a position he has held since 2021. With over a decade of experience in various sectors, he has developed a well-rounded skill set in banking, marketing, administration, and business development.

Mr. Gugapiriyan began his career at People’s Bank, where he gained valuable experience as a Banking Assistant for three years. He then transitioned to education sector, where he worked for eight years as a Marketing and Administrative Officer. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in business development and operational management, helping to drive the company’s growth and market presence. In addition, Mr. Gugapiriyan has one year of experience as a Cashier at Auto Tread (Pvt) Ltd, where he honed his financial management and customer service skills.

Since joining BIMT, Mr. Gugapiriyan has successfully managed marketing strategies and student enrolment processes, contributing to the growth of the institution. His extensive experience in marketing, combined with his administrative and business development expertise, has made him an invaluable asset to the team at BIMT Campus.

Ms. Isuri Kavindi

Ms. Isuri Kavindi Rajapaksha is a graduate from the Faculty of Management Studies at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, where she earned a Second-Class degree in Eco-Business Management. Her academic expertise encompasses Business Management, Sustainable Development, Green Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Environmental Compliance Auditing.

Professionally, Ms. Isuri has over two years of experience in human resource management, primarily within the hospitality industry. Her practical knowledge and skills in HR strategy and operations have been developed through hands-on roles, where she successfully managed and implemented HR strategies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive organizational growth and performance.

In addition to her experience, Ms. Isuri has completed a Diploma in Professional Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management Sri Lanka, further enhancing her expertise in HR practices and methodologies.

Ms. Sanduni Athukorala is a dedicated and accomplished academic with a strong foundation in Economics. She is currently pursuing a Master of Social Sciences (M.SSc.) in Economics at the University of Kelaniya, building on her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Ms. Sanduni is also enhancing her professional qualifications, including ongoing studies at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CMA) and a Diploma in Computerized Accounting from the British Informatics of Computer Technology.

In her teaching career, Ms. Sanduni serves as an instructor at the University of Moratuwa’s Department of Industrial Management, where she lectures undergraduate students in the faculties of Business and Engineering. Known for her interactive teaching style, she fosters critical thinking and mentorship, making a significant impact on her students’ academic journeys. Before embarking on her academic career, Ms. Sanduni worked as an Assistant Accountant at V Pac Corrugated Pvt Ltd, where she gained valuable experience in financial management and accounting. Her expertise in adhering to accounting standards and regulatory requirements further complements her strong academic background in economics.

Mr .Sameem Mohamed Rifaz

Head of Media

S. M. Rifaz is a results-driven media and IT professional with a dynamic career spanning strategic media management, content creation, IT infrastructure, and digital communications. Currently serving as the Head of Media at British institute of Management and Technology (Pvt) Ltd. He leads the institution’s media strategy, overseeing integrated campaigns across digital and traditional platforms to drive engagement, visibility, and brand development.


In his current role, Rifaz is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive media plans, managing content production and distribution, and optimizing campaign performance through data- driven insights. He also leads a team of media professionals, guiding them in the implementation of cross-channel marketing strategies and ensuring alignment with institutional goals. His expertise extends to public relations and vendor relationship management, allowing him to secure favourable placements and maintain a strong brand presence.

A former school athlete and national martial arts champion, he brings a high level of discipline, creativity, and team leadership to every endeavour. Mr. Adib Imran Hassen

Corporate Relationship Manager

Adib Hassen is an experienced management professional with a strong background spanning across various industries such as garment manufacturing, electronic security monitoring, publishing, interior design, and IT services. He specializes in people operations, event management, and project leadership, making him a versatile and reliable asset to any organization.


He previously served as the Business Partner of Projects, Events, and Engagement at Villvay Systems, Adib leads project teams, drives business objectives, and champions employee engagement initiatives. His expertise includes managing large-scale events like Year-End Awards Nights, Town Halls, and various team-building activities, fostering a collaborative and motivating environment.


Adib’s prior experience as a Project Manager at Spacecraft Studios and General Manager at The Galle Press further demonstrates his leadership in handling day-to-day operations, client relationships, and project delivery. His strategic approach to business management, coupled with his focus on learning and development, has contributed significantly to organizational growth and transformation.


Currently pursuing an MBA, Adib is committed to enhancing his skills and expertise to continue making valuable contributions in management and operations. Fluent in English and Sinhala, Adib brings a dynamic and people-centered approach to his work.
